Lost and Found

Lost a Pet?

In addition to searching for your pet in your neighborhood, we suggest you visit the Women’s Humane Society and other local shelters to view stray and found animals in person. Because of similarities in color and size among many animals, it is impossible for us to determine if a particular animal is your pet based solely on your description. Please visit our shelter at least twice per week if your pet is lost.

Animals without identification that are not claimed by their owners after 48 hours will be freed legally to the animal shelter for adoption or euthanasia if the animal is deemed severely unhealthy, in pain, or unadoptable. Animals with identification are held at the Women's Humane Society for 10 days during which time staff will make efforts to contact the owner.

Found a Pet?

We provide shelter and care for lost dogs, cats and small animals. You can bring the animal to us during shelter hours  if you find an animal and are unable to locate its owner. If the animal’s description matches the description of a missing pet, our staff will contact the owner.

Shelter hours are as follows:

Sun 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
(animal drop-off only)
Mon 7:45 a.m. - 4:45 p.m.
Tues 7:45 a.m. - 7:45 p.m.
Wed 7:45 a.m. - 7:45 p.m.
Thu 7:45 a.m. - 7:45 p.m.
Fri 7:45 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Sat 8:00 a.m. - 5:45 p.m.

If you are calling with a description of a found animal which matches the description of a missing pet, we will contact the potential owner for you and arrange for contact information to be shared.
